Thomas Sing is economist and master of figures and probabilities. Maths is his passion, in particular the broad area of game theory. He feels at home right there where the creativity of everyday life meets science - where creativity is transformed into "creactivity". During his school years Thomas Sing obtained the world record in the famous German game of "Mensch-Ärgere-Dich-Nicht" noted in the Guinness-book of records. Beginning of the 1980s he wrote a program analyzing the gamble black-jack and with this he earned the money for his study in German and Austrian gambling casinos.
Thomas Sing started to play piano not until advanced age. In the course of this he discovered his love for composing pieces of music. Since then he is composing (at a very modest level, to be honest) especially classical music. During his engagement in harmonics he suddenly had the idea of a musical puzzle that could be solved acoustically. The transcription of half steps happened in the language of maths. Some times later he developed the puzzle Miss Lupun, how it is know today, together with his partner Ralph-Peter Gebhardt.
PHd Ralph-Peter-Gebhardt
Psychologist
Passion: Chess, Miss Lupun, Movement and Family
PhD Ralph-Peter Gebhardt is psychologist and family therapist. Before his study he was one of the last radio operators and circumnavigated the globe on the German tall ship Gorch Fock. During this time he dealed with the Morse code and de-/encrypted messages with it. The understanding of hidden messages in verbal and nonverbal communication was both part of his study and of his engagement for an autonomous soccer team in Konstanz. Within his clinical work he tested cognitive functions like reaction, concentration, attention, memory and intelligence. Simple arithmetic problems and little riddles were part of his daily work to practice and improve the cognitive functions of his clients.
Ralph-Peter Gebhardt is happily married and father of two children. In his spare time he likes playing strategic games and he wishes he had more time for playing chess. Not least, he is enthusiastic about Miss Lupun because of the clear logic of moves needed to solve it.
Volker Firnhaber
Banker
Passion: Computer, Miss Lupun, Sport, Lake of Constance
Volker Firnhaber was a banker. Beginning of the 1990s he seized the chance to start his own business in the environmental sector which was an adventure at that time. 11 years later he achieved personal liberty by selling the solid enterprise he built up. Since then he spend most of his time in sports and computer engineering. But first of all he loves the Lake of Constance with all its charms and possibilities.
Since spring 2008 Volker Firnhaber is the third member of the team. He is responsible for all kinds of technical solutions. In particular our homepage and our online game are his areas of accountability.
